Changes to Powerball Game

On the 18th January 2012 the Powerball draw will now use 35 powerballs instead of 39, this effectively makes the Powerball a new game and draw results will start anew from this date.

Make sure you use your program to check any of your entries before you do the following changes.

You need to make changes to the powerball game definition to ensure the program selects and checks against the new ball set. To do this, select File > Configure Game > Powerball

In the section where it says Number of bonus balls in bonus ball pool (currently 39) change this to 35 and save your changes.

Repeat by selecting File > Configure Game > Powerball and select the Winning Cominations tab - check the following entries

And click Save Winning Lines

Select the Draw Days tab and select Sat and Wed and save the changes

The new game will now be configured. Note that all downloadable draw results will start anew from the new game. You will also need to change your printing definitions if you use the program to print your playslips. Once you have made these changes do not download the results for Powerball until 20th Jan, otherwise you may get the old result files which will cause problems with the stats display.

After the 20th any problems with powerball game will clear providing the changes above have been made. Please also make sure you delete any entry files you have for the old game and create new ones for the new balls sets - otherwise you may be trying to enter draws using the wrong powerball numbers.

Over the next few days the program installation files will be updated to take into account the new game - a version change will not take place as it is not needed.
